NW77th Introducing their Spring Collection at Vision Expo East

NW77th is thrilled to announce that they will be releasing their Spring 2024 collection at this year’s Vision Expo East, presenting 19 new product models in 4-5 colors each. The Spring release brings new eyeglasses to five of NW77th’s product collections, including Street Series, Socks, Home, Combination, and Block Steel.

Twenty-one new colorways up the intrigue of the new release, bringing a wide range of never-before-seen acetate color blends and metal color combinations. True to the creative nature of the brand, each colorway is custom designed exclusively for NW77th, leaning into their unique yet distinctive style though bold hues and unique shapes. Each piece is handcrafted and designed to last, made using a lightweight cellulose acetate with a metal wire core or surgical grade stainless steel.

Of the new releases, eight eyeglass models feature an acetate build, supported by their custom wire core for a durable yet flexible frame. These eyeglasses bring new designs to three product collections: three from the Home collection, two from Socks, and three from Street Series. Each acetate model comes in four colorways, seven of which are newly designed and new to NW77th.

Five Block Steel models bring a range of new designs to NW77th’s selection of metal eyeglasses, accounting for seven of the new metal color combinations. Each piece from this collection was designed with NW77th’s rubberized paint, the same kind of paint used on high-end automobiles, for a flexible, chip-free finish with a smooth, glossy feel.

The best of both worlds, the Combination collection will receive six new eyeglass models this Spring, made with a mix of surgical steel and NW77th’s custom designed acetate. The final seven new colorways will be found within these combination frames, mixed throughout the metal color combos and the colorful acetate blends.

Get the first look at NW77th’s Spring collection by visiting them in booth P411 at Vision Expo East. Save a spot in their booth today with an appointment.

About NW77th Eyewear

NW77th is an independent, family-owned brand of premium, handcrafted eyewear with a focus on creating fun, fresh eyewear. Based in St. Louis, NW77th is owned by the Erker family, who have been dedicated to the craft of beautiful, high-quality eyewear for 145 years and 5 generations.

In order to fully appreciate this eyewear collection and the brand behind that creates its energy, you must know the history behind Erker's. Erker’s Fine Eyewear is a family-owned business with a rich St. Louis history, dating back five generations to the company's inception in 1879.

Founded by A.P. Erker, the company later incorporated when brother August Erker joined the business.

The first optical laboratory west of the Mississippi River, Erker's won optical machinery and equipment awards at the Louisiana Purchase Exhibition, served as the official photographer for the 1904 Saint Louis World's Fair and custom designed the goggles for Charles Lindbergh, used in his historic flight over the Atlantic.

In the years since, the family business was carried on by the descendants of August Erker, first by his son Eugene, who took over circa 1930, followed by grandson Jack Sr., who took the reins in the 1960s, then by great-grandson, Jack Jr, in the early 1990’s, who teamed up most recently with his two sons Jack III and Tony in the early 2001.

Early on, Erker's sold everything with a lens, from eye glasses, sunglasses, prescription lenses to cameras, goggles to microscopes. A key element to the company's success has been the ability of its leaders to predict and identify new trends, not just keeping up with the competition, but leading the eyewear industry. True to form, Jack Erker Jr. recognized the great consumer demand for fine eyewear and has been focusing on the latest trend in the St. Louis market.

In 2003, Jack Erker Jr. and his two sons, Jack lll and Tony, set up a wholesale division Studio Optyx, a design and manufacturing house that creates and distributes its own visions of eyewear. Since the inception, Studio Optyx has worked with some of the world’s most fashion creative and fashion leading factories. “We have a very high level of criteria that factories must meet in order for us to have a successful relationship. One that is engraved in my DNA since I was born,” says Jack III.
