LOFT Eyewear Shows New York 2026
Two venues, one walkable eyewear district
Every March, New York briefly shifts rhythm. Store visits turn into conversations, boroughs become destinations, and independent eyewear steps into the streets. That momentum once again anchors at LOFT Eyewear Shows, taking place from March 5 to 7 in the Chelsea and Hudson Yards district.
Now in its 26th year, LOFT Eyewear Shows has long established itself as one of North America’s most important independent eyewear gatherings. What began in 2000 as a small, friendly meeting of like minded brands has grown into a calendar highlight that continues to resist the scale and impersonality of conventional trade fairs. In 2026, LOFT will once again present over 150 eyewear collections, reinforcing its role as a focused, human-scale alternative for optical retailers and designers alike.

This year’s New York edition unfolds across two closely connected venues on 28th Street. The familiar Chelsea Industrial space returns, joined by High Line Nine, located just 100 yards away. The short walk between venues is part of the experience, keeping the show compact and navigable while turning the surrounding neighborhood into an extension of the event itself.
Founder Richard Mewha explains the thinking behind the show’s continued evolution:
“We are always humbled by the incredible support from our vendors and optical retailers alike. We understood last year that we would have to grow our show to provide a viable and purposeful reason for all attendees to visit NYC for an eyewear event.
We added vendors on the lens/lab side of the market as well as CE in 2025 and we are really excited to be expanding both of those areas this year. With the debut of our pioneering event Eyewear Design Week we encouraged other showrooms to co-ordinate to give our visitors a range of venues and events to attend. We have added several more to the list this year.”
Education continues to play a growing role at LOFT NYC. The CE program expands further in 2026, with complimentary courses taking place daily at the Chelsea Industrial venue. These sessions are sponsored by LOFT and delivered in collaboration with the Opticians Alliance of New York and Kayla Ashlee of Spexy, featuring a lineup of respected industry speakers. Visitors can schedule both eyewear appointments and CE classes directly through the LOFT website, creating a streamlined and purposeful visit.
LOFT also remains a central pillar of Eyewear Design Week, an initiative that transforms New York into a distributed eyewear experience. Alongside LOFT, attendees are encouraged to explore showrooms and events across the city, including Kering Eyewear, Thélios, the Eyecon event, gatherings at the Marcolin showroom, an Italian eyewear exhibition and cocktail event on West 18th Street, and an additional three day CE program on West 30th Street sponsored by ZEISS, 20/20 Magazine, and the Accessories Council.
LOFT Marketing Director Louis Fullagar reflects on how last year’s experience shaped the 2026 edition:
“We learned a lot in 2025 and have used that knowledge to expand our event even more and bring our spaces closer together this year. We are ecstatic to have found the High Line Nine venue just up the street from Chelsea Industrial making it super convenient for all attendees. Having all the brands so close together is definitely exciting!
Our innovative Eyewear Design Week project was really well received last year and has inspired many other spin-off events for 2026. We have been firmly putting independent eyewear on the map as has been our mission since day one. I’m looking forward to our expanded CE and partnering with these other companies and showrooms this year.”
Beyond brands and programming, LOFT has always been defined by atmosphere. Known for its excellent catering and hospitality, the show offers a relaxed setting that encourages conversation and genuine connection. It remains a place where opticians can speak directly with the people behind the designs, without barriers or noise. The much anticipated LOFT Party returns on Friday, March 6, at the Chelsea Industrial venue, with tickets becoming available closer to the event.
LOFT Eyewear Shows New York is open Thursday through Saturday, March 5–7, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. As part of Eyewear Design Week, it continues to prove that independent eyewear does not need to shout to be heard, it simply needs the right space, the right people, and a city willing to walk with it.
About LOFT Eyewear Shows
LOFT EYEWEAR SHOWS are the premier independent luxury eyewear events held annually in New York City and San Francisco, including the highly anticipated LOFT NYC 2026 edition, and have set the standard for independent eyewear events in North America since 2000.
The shows are created by a group of like-minded, independent designers who share a passion for creating great looking, sometimes funky, sometimes classic eyewear for the discerning consumer.
These designers believe that their frames should be styled and fitted by independent eyewear retailers who are experts in tailoring their eyewear to the prescription and facial needs of the end user.
Their different approaches to design not only strengthen their common vision to enhance eyewear styling but also, most importantly, to have fun! Their independent collections originate from France, Japan, UK, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Denmark, the USA, Canada, and Austria.
