LOFT Eyewear Shows // New Santa Monica Edition

Santa Monica eyewear event

LOFT Eyewear Shows Lands in Santa Monica’s Art Deco Gem

When it comes to curating exceptional independent luxury eyewear experiences, LOFT Eyewear Shows is always a step ahead. This Fall, the renowned trade event is heading to California’s coast with a brand-new edition, debuting October 24–25, 2025 in a breathtakingly restored 1938 Art Deco post office in downtown Santa Monica, just blocks from the Pacific Ocean.

The new venue reflects more than just a change of scenery. LOFT carefully selects each venue to reflect its identity and values. The new Santa Monica eyewear event creates the ideal setting for showcasing independent luxury eyewear in an environment built on creativity and connection.

“When looking for a location for our events, we seek spaces that resonate with our design aesthetic and that are conducive to creating an atmosphere that encourages the connections that we so love about these events.”

A Fresh Take on the West Coast Optical Experience

The landmark Santa Monica Post Office, a legacy of the New Deal’s Public Works Administration, is now transformed into an immersive setting for independent designers to connect with optical retailers in a more intentional, inspired way. According to Mewha, LOFT has never been about traditional trade show dynamics, but about empowering independent luxury eyewear.

“We feel that the future of these events hinges on creating an environment for not only buying carefully curated eyewear, but also for exchanges of common interests, learning about the creative aspects of individual designers, and of course, having fun while we are at it.”

The vision behind LOFT is shared by the entire team. Marketing Director Louis Fullagar explains why the West Coast has always been part of their long-term plan.

“We have been pioneering a West Coast event for many years in response to the growing appetite for independent eyewear shows. We enjoyed our time in San Francisco, but we were keen to try something completely new, and Santa Monica offers that perfect mix of culture, sunshine, and connection.”

LOFT Eyewear Shows “Santa Monica”:

Curated Design, Coastal Atmosphere

This year’s Santa Monica eyewear event kicks off with a welcome party on Friday evening, October 24, followed by a full day of exhibition on Saturday, October 25. With barista coffee, curated catering, and a laid-back West Coast vibe, the LOFT experience continues to blur the lines between commerce and culture.

As always, the event will showcase the most exclusive independent luxury eyewear brands from around the globe, with a vendor list that continues to grow. And while the post office closed its official doors in 2012, don’t be surprised if someone still drops in to mail a letter—this historic space still carries echoes of its past.

LOFT Eyewear Shows are premier independent luxury eyewear events that have been held annually in New York City , where it hosted the TEF Awards, as well as in San Francisco and Las Vegas over the years. Since 2000, the LOFT events have showcased the most exclusive and cutting edge designers from around the world.

The story of the LOFT is one of passion and independence. The concept was born from the idea of community within the independent sector of the eyewear industry. In the beginning it was the driving momentum of something different that drew the companies together. Pretty soon the feeling started to become infectious as more and more eyewear junkies began to open new stores and boutiques. From those humble beginnings our show has expanded to cater for all these eclectic and fiercely independent design houses.

Now more than ever, the gap between mainstream and independent seems larger. Big box companies are consolidating and the product channels are ever more generic. Small independent designers are finally getting noticed as more and more business owners look for a point of difference. These treasures can be found in the independent eyewear movement worldwide. Niche eyewear shows are popping up all over the globe to foster this market. End consumers are being educated about design and small batch quantities, asking retailers to stock their favorite collections.
