The Takaori collection symbolizes the highest Japanese crafts-manship that chooses the finest materials combined with meticulous technical and stylistic details. Unique profiles and workmanship, limited and numbered edition.
A family history that dates back to the Middle Ages and boasts decades of expertise in the production of the highest quality glasses. This, in short, is the Takaori collection that chooses Bold Optical Fair to officially present itself to the European public.
Takaori officially debuts in Europe, a collection entirely hand-crafted in Japan, the result of expert craftsmanship that combines the finest materials with an exclusive and highly recognizable design.
Eyewear with a timeless elegance, which their producers use to define as avant-garde-classic, a play on words that embodies all the wisdom and mastery resulting from years of expertise in the production of top-of-the-range glasses combined with a futuristic design, avant-garde, which gives character and charm to every single piece.
Each pair in the Takaori collection is a true masterpiece obtained from hours of meticulous work and dedicated commitment, a result that only skilled Japanese craftsmen are able to achieve. Unique glasses, all offered in limited edition.
Every detail, every process, every choice connected to the creation of each single piece is finely perfected: everything contributes to elevating the quality, beauty and preciousness of these glasses.
First of all, the material chosen: Japanese acetate, considered among the finest in the world, to which are added the precious monobloc Beta Titanium hinges enriched with high quality screws, coated with a special resin which contributes to greater resistance to stress. A precious and hidden stylistic detail, the family coat of arms in silver, a symbol imbued with meaning, decorates every right hinge.
The founder of the company can boast of a lineage from an ancient family which, in medieval times, held the government of a village and seems to be connected to the ancient noble Samurai, thus infusing the collection with a charm shrouded in an aura of mystery, history and a unique tradition.
This is why the family crest, a rare swallowtail butterfly, is proudly and carefully reproduced on the titanium hinge and often serves as a logo to identify the craftsmanship of the collection.
Starting from September 2023, the Takaori collection has been introduced with a specific fit for the European market, a fulfilment achieved after two years of commitment and research into creating the best possible European fit. Furthermore, the European collection has been enriched with additional details compared to the one with the Asian fit to give even more exclusivity and value to each single piece.
These include the engraving in the temple, the use of a fully machined metal core, the engraving of the T, the brand’s initial, on the final external part of the temple. To complete the pack a very precious leather case handmade with 100% natural leather with an interior covered in a soft and smooth fabric to avoid scratches.
Bold Optical Fair, on stage in Holland on 8 and 9 September, marks the official debut of the collection in Europe.
The Takaori technical characteristics in detail:
The entire collection chooses exclusively Japanese acetate, considered the most valuable in the world.
Each pair of glasses is made from sheets with a thickness between 8 and 12 mm, first cut using a 5-axis machine and then faceted by manually one by one to obtain the characteristic three-dimensional appearance, a distinctive feature of Takaori design. The flawless definition of a sharp edge goes beyond the common polishing process, requiring the craftsmanship of the most experienced master craftsman. This precision result is only possible through meticulous manual work that takes a significant amount of time and requires scrupulous attention to every detail.
The precious Japanese acetate is characterized by its high shine, solidity and stability as well as by its rich variety of colours and minimal change in shape over time resulting in exceptional durability. All this is made possible by the production method of the sheets which are carried out without the use of adhesives and solvents, with a reduction in the use of plasticizers.
The extraordinary dedication and craftsmanship involved in this process are reflected in the production capacity limited to just 200 pieces per month. An obligatory choice that further emphasizes the desire to give absolute priority to quality, ensuring that each piece is an authentic expression of refinement and craftsmanship.
To ensure optimal comfort, the Takaori collection has integrated exclusive lamellar monobloc hinges made of Beta Titanium.
These hinges, nickel-free and characterized by exceptional corrosion resistance, offer considerable elasticity, contributing to superior durability and perfect adaptability. To guarantee stable action and unrivalled durability over time, high quality screws have also been chosen, coated with a special resin which not only prolongs the operating life but also contributes to greater resistance to daily stress: a measure which optimizes performance of the hinge and also contributes to the overall reliability of the product, ensuring that every detail is taken care of with the utmost precision and artisanal dedication.
