New to Erker’s Special Reserve: The Murray Eyeglasses
Erker’s 1879 announces the release of a new eyeglass to their limited-production Special Reserve collection.
The latest introduction to their limited-production Special Reserve collection, Erker’s 1879 is thrilled to present the new Murray eyeglasses.
Available in four colorways, this masculine eyeglass offers a sophisticated, luxurious style with a mix of surgical steel and cellulose acetate. Handcrafted in small batches, only 100 of each color is made, never to be made again.
A new development for Special Reserve, the Murray is the first eyeglass in the collection to stray from the usual acetate build with a combination design. On this frame, an acetate brow is paired with slim metal rims, which are decorated with a diamond-like pattern along the outer edge. Much like the rest of the collection, the frame boasts an ornate temple design exclusive to this limited-edition series and is named after one of the long-time sales reps of their heritage brand.
The Murray eyeglasses were designed with a classic rectangular silhouette, created in four colorways: Navy Silver, Tortoise, Terrazzo, and Matte Black. Never before seen from Erker’s 1879, the Terrazzo color blend pairs warm orange and cool blue tones for a unique, contemporary style, complemented by the lustrous golden rims. The three additional colors offer a more simple, classic style, letting the metal elements shine.
Continuing their tradition of storytelling, the Special Reserve collection encapsulates the 145-year history of their heritage brand with special insignia throughout the design of each frame. Inspiring the Ferris wheel rivets on the face and temples of the frame, the Erker family served as the official photographer of the 1904 World’s Fair, capturing the legendary Ferris wheel in downtown St. Louis.Â
In 1927, the brand’s founding brothers designed the goggles worn by Charles Lindbergh for the first-ever nonstop transatlantic flight, which is represented by the goggles etched on the temple tips. The story doesn’t end there, with various custom elements relating to the five generations to run the business since their inception and their history in the city of St. Louis.
Erker’s 1879 is soon to release three additional eyeglass models to Special Reserve, debuting their Fall collection at Vision Expo West Suite #47-903. Be the first to see their new eyewear with an appointment in their suite.
