Monoqool // In the Raw

IN THE RAW

Monoqool announces the launch of IN THE RAW;

a chic ‘industrial-inspired’ campaign where the worlds of fashion eyewear design and atmospheric Danish “regenerated” architecture collide.

The campaign highlights a total of 12 new models in their advanced 3D Printed Polyamide with stainless steel temples, in a mix of images highlighting the dramatic raw architectural surfaces, colours, and textures of a former factory building and its revitalised interiors and stylish details.

The new Autumn/Winter 2022/23 IN THE RAW campaign was shot at the Plant CPH, a former factory building in the trendy up-and-coming district of Kløvermarken in Copenhagen.

The building features a 28-metre-tall tower room and a cool raw industrial atmosphere serving as a backdrop that is bold, eye-catching, and contemporary in its refined development as a dramatic space.

The 12 models launching are available to order from September 2022. Retailers can also order high-quality, bespoke point-of-sale materials such as banners, cardboard displays, and art posters from mid-September.

11 new video clips will be available to optical retailers to share on social media or in-store.

The 12 models released for the season:

MODEL CELEBRITY CE
– WIRE SERIES

The definition of a classical round shape, the Celebrity frame offers an elegant aesthetic for the autumn season in four colorways including Rubin red and Chateau green.

MODEL YUMI YM
– WIRE SERIES

Small, compact proportions define the Yumi frame, named after Monoqool’s company dog. The squarish shape with an edgy flat top will ensure any wearer stands out in a crowd.

MODEL ROCKY RY
– IQ MINI SERIES

A truly bold 70s/80s inspired frame, the Rocky defines the individual statement style of an aviator while offering the lightweight comfort of Monoqool’s 3D printed material. The four colorways include black matt and camel beige.

MODEL GOODBYE GIRL GD
– IQ MINI SERIES

Say hello to the classical Goodbye Girl, a rectangular design with a semi-deep bridge, distinguished, easy-to-wear, and perfectly contemporary. A choice of colorways includes Rubin red, Heritage red, and Ponderosa green.

MODEL PRIVATE EYES PR
– SLIDER SERIES

A frame for women, the Private Eyes design will enhance the femininity of facial features with its deep bridge and lenses. The rounded shape is particularly elegant for square faces. Colours include Atlantic blue, Ponderosa green, and black.

A 70s inspired shape with a feminine elegance when worn, the slightly squared Piccadilly frame is offered in black, Atlantic blue, Ponderosa green, and Heritage red.

MODEL ZOO STATION ZT

Monoqool’s new take on a round shape with a double bridge, Avalanche is the most out-there of the new releases, bold, amazingly flattering, and exceptionally creative.  Available in black and cream.

MODEL WANDERER WD

Building on the trend for oversized 80s designs but without exaggerating it, the Zoo Station frame is like a hybrid of a round and a square. The cool colorways include black and warm orange.

MODEL WHISKEY WH

A classic unisex panto shape (likely to be the next bestseller!) available in dark aubergine, Royal blue, black, and Ponderosa green.

About Monoqool

Monoqool is an award-winning eyewear brand from Denmark, that creates ultra-thin 3D printed eyewear to bring ultimate comfort to the wearer. Despite being a 100% Danish company, the brand was conceived while the founder was stationed abroad in exotic Japan, responsible for promoting Danish design furniture through a chain of retail stores across Japan.

Innovation has always been the cornerstone of Monoqool’s development. Right from its beginnings in 2008, the Danish company took a firm stance and decided that to make a difference in the eyewear industry flooded with brands, Monoqool had to stand out through innovation. A couple of years later and after countless rounds of ‘trial and error’ the brand was ready to introduce a new patented design to the eyewear world.

Their Helix spiral screwless hinge was introduced at the SILMO show in Paris, and within just a few years the company received several international design awards for this very unique hinge solution.

Monoqool won the top award ‘Best of the Best’ at the Red Dot Award show, and more awards were added to the collection when the company introduced the same unique hinge working with NXT material.

Always looking for new materials, new ways of making hinges, and experimenting with new technologies, their design team came across 3D printing already back in 2008 at the start of the company, and kept experimenting and using the technologies for prototypes, etc.

Today, the brand offers four stylish and contemporary eyewear collections, Slider, Wire, IQ, and IQ Mini; each one with its own unique style and material mix, developed with a passion for experimentation and cool design.
