About China International Optical Fair:
China International Optics Fair (CIOF) is one of the two annual optical shows in China enjoying official endorsement and support. In China, official approval and sponsorship mean half a ticket to success. The shows are equipped with the right credentials: They are approved by the Ministry of Commerce and supported by the China National Light Industry Council.
The latter is the authorized body supervising the light industry of the country. Optics is one of it. They are organized by the China Optometry & Optical Association (COOA), the body that governs the optical industry of China, and the Sinolight International Holdings Corporation (SIHC), the state-owned enterprise running international trade in China.
Co-organized by Orient International Exhibition Co., Ltd. from Hong Kong. In fact, the dates of the shows fit perfectly into China’s bi-annual procurement seasons. Further, the shows are recognized by the Ministry of Commerce as “Distinguished Optical Exhibitions,” drawing growing international participation each year from major eyewear manufacturers, design houses, and optical technology suppliers.
“Currently, high-quality Chinese eyewear is receiving worldwide acclaim and recognition and so it is high time to take the leap one step further: trendsetting initiation and implementation by our own brands.
In the meantime, with a view to further boost China’s production of eyewear and optical equipment, team-build her own cadet of designers, bring the quality of spectacles and dispensing service to the next level, fully employ and adopt new technologies worldwide and strengthen co-operation and exchanges amongst Chinese and overseas optical associates, in the span of CIOF Beijing, China International Optics Fair one will be so impressed to find the numerous number of professional talks, seminars and training sessions to be held.”
China International Optical Fair:
CIOF Beijing and SIOF Shanghai
The 1st China International Optics Fair (CIOF) was held in 1985 in Shanghai. And then the exhibition venue was changed to Beijing in 1987, at the same time, the exhibition got the approval of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Economic Relation and Trade (The Ministry of Commerce of People’s Republic of China now), which meant it was certified to be the international optics fair officially. In 1997, this exhibition was named to be ‘CHINA INTERNATIONAL OPTICS FAIR’ officially, showing the international influence of the exhibition.
CIOF Beijing is held every autumn and now boasts a history of more than three decades. Over the years, it has evolved into an important international platform for communication, development, and trade within the optical industry, attracting both Chinese and overseas exhibitors and reinforcing Beijing’s role as a key meeting point for the global eyewear market and future optical innovation.
