SIOF 2025: A Record-Breaking Showcase of Innovation and Global Connectivity

The 23rd China (Shanghai) International Optics Fair (SIOF 2025) illuminated the Shanghai New International Expo Center from February 20 to 22, 2025, with a vibrant celebration of innovation and global trade.

Under the inspiring theme of “New Quality Productivity, New Growth Drivers, New Vision,” the event emphasized the industry’s commitment to driving forward with efficiency, excellence, and groundbreaking creativity.

This year’s edition achieved historic growth, featuring 971 exhibitors, including 340 international brands from 23 countries and regions, across an impressive 115,000 square meters of exhibition space—an almost 60% increase compared to the previous year. Over 140,000 visitors from 95 countries and regions flocked to explore six main exhibition categories: frames, lenses, international brands, contact lenses, instruments and machinery, and optometric services.

SIOF 2025 once again affirmed its place as a pivotal event in the optical world, offering a dynamic platform for innovation, high-end development, and sustainable practices. The broadened scale and rich diversity of exhibits underscored the industry’s vitality, while a reimagined exhibition experience made business networking more seamless than ever.

Well-known names such as Marchon, Safilo, and Chang’s returned to the show, affirming its reputation as an unmissable business opportunity. Marcolin made a notable comeback, presenting celebrated collections including BMW, Tom Ford, ic! Berlin, and Zegna.

A highlight was the Overseas Designer Brand Pavilion, featuring over 35 distinguished brands from China, Japan, France, Hong Kong SAR, Canada, the USA, Portugal, Korea, and the UK. Additionally, the two International Pavilions reappeared: Japan’s Fukui Optical Association, presenting 10 member companies with 20 premium brands, and the Hong Kong Optical Manufacturers Association, with six companies spanning key halls.

Fostering Global Trade Connections

SIOF 2025 amplified international trade with a targeted business matching program. Professional buyers from 13 countries including Pakistan, Canada, India, and the USA engaged in curated meetings on opening day, streamlining new partnerships. Notably, more than 300 industry professionals from Korea, including optical association leaders and major retailers, participated in two dedicated business matchmaking sessions, receiving high praise for their efficiency and value.

Knowledge-Sharing at the Heart of SIOF 2025

Beyond the vibrant show floor, SIOF 2025 hosted a series of seminars and forums to chart the future of the optical sector. The China Eyewear Brand Upgrading Forum, themed “Usher in The New Era of Brand Evolution,” attracted industry elites and innovators eager to shape the next chapter of Chinese eyewear. Meanwhile, the debut of the “Potential Station” in Hall W4 brought together brand launches, catwalk shows, and themed seminars focused on new fashion, new consumption, and new technology.

A Powerful Media Presence

To maximize its global reach, SIOF 2025 collaborated with prestigious optical publications and associations, including 20/20 Europe, China Glasses Science-Technology, DIOPS, MAFO, Vision Biz, Optical World, SILMO, and TEF Magazine among many others.

Looking Ahead

The momentum continues with the 36th China International Optics Fair (CIOF 2025), set for September 9–11 in Beijing. As one of Asia’s most important annual optical exhibitions, CIOF 2025 will offer key insights into the upcoming winter and spring trends.

Meanwhile, the next chapter of SIOF will unfold in March 2026, marking the 24th China (Shanghai) International Optics Fair and once again coinciding with the crucial spring buying season. With each edition, SIOF strengthens its place as a powerhouse platform for innovation, growth, and international collaboration in the eyewear industry.
