Andy Wolf launches limited edition sunglasses made from recycled remnants
For nearly two decades, independent eyewear brand ANDY WOLF has been at the forefront of sustainability in the optical industry. With in-house production facilities in Austria and France, the brand upholds traditional European craftsmanship while continuously innovating to create more sustainable production processes.
Since 2022, ANDY WOLF has transitioned its collection to Acetate Renew, a more sustainable material that holds ISCC Plus certification. Additionally, the brand’s metal eyewear collection is certified with “Origine France Garantie,” ensuring high-quality and locally sourced production. Beyond its materials, ANDY WOLF actively contributes to environmental conservation by cultivating one square meter of wildflower meadow in Austria for every pair of glasses sold, promoting biodiversity and sustainability.
In its ongoing commitment to resource-friendly and future-oriented production, ANDY WOLF is taking sustainability a step further this year with a limited edition release. The label is launching 250 exclusive pairs of its iconic Daisy model, crafted from a unique acetate developed in collaboration with a French manufacturer. This exclusive material is made from leftover stock acetates—combining remnants of 20 different acetate stocks from the past two decades, creating a one-of-a-kind blend that embodies the brand’s legacy and dedication to sustainable innovation.
This limited-edition release underscores ANDY WOLF’s mission to merge timeless design with cutting-edge sustainability, setting a new benchmark for eco-conscious eyewear.
About Andy Wolf
An idea among friends, that was the beginning of the independent, Austrian eyewear brand ANDY WOLF EYEWEAR. In 2006 the label was founded by Andreas Pirkheim (better known as Andy) and Wolfgang Scheucher (the wolf in the name). What started very small and with a big vision to combine local, traditional eyewear craftsmanship with contemporary, innovative design is now worn and loved worldwide.
Since day one, ANDY WOLF has taken responsibility for people and nature. In 2022, the innovative brand takes not one, but many steps further into a more sustainable future - the entire year is dedicated to the moWo Grow With Us.
For every ANDY WOLF frame sold, there is a square meter of wildflower meadow that is nurtured and cared for. In this way, the brand actively contributes to environmental protection and biodiversity (in Austria).
ANDY WOLF is also once again demonstrating a pioneering spirit in its choice of materials: step by step, acetate frames are being switched to Acetate Renew, the most sustainable acetate in the industry - for a thoroughly sustainable collection that is unique on the market.
