With the new ANDY WOLF AWearness METALL collection, the Austrian independent brand expands its commitment to conscious craftsmanship, introducing a line of metal frames and clip-ons that are as sustainable as they are refined.
First introduced in 2021 with a series of acetate models, AWearness now evolves into metal — not only as a design choice, but as a manifesto. Each frame in the ANDY WOLF AWearness METALL line is built using materials with recycled content, such as premium acetate renew and monel, and features a screw-based system without any glued or welded joints. This kit-based construction allows every component to be disassembled, replaced, or recycled, significantly extending the life of the eyewear while reducing waste.
Modular Design, Minimal Waste
The ANDY WOLF AWearness METALL line is engineered with intentionality down to the smallest detail. Every hinge, temple insert, and structural piece has been custom-developed for this collection, creating a seamless visual language that is unmistakably AWearness. While the frames avoid the need for logos, a subtle pattern inspired by the letters A and W flows throughout the components, making each design immediately recognizable.
Made entirely in Europe — with the sole exception of Japanese titanium nose pads — the result is an eyewear line that reflects the very DNA of ANDY WOLF: local production, innovative engineering, and timeless elegance.
Where Classics Meet Craft
The ANDY WOLF AWearness METALL frames come in four sophisticated colorways: rose gold, gold, black-silver, and gun matte. Each frame has an optional clip-on sun lens, allowing wearers to switch effortlessly from optical to sunglass use. While the acetate line pays homage to the brand’s earliest shapes and tones, the metal designs are a celebration of classic modernism — featuring embossed patterns, refined facets, and three-dimensional forms that transform utility into luxury.

An idea among friends, that was the beginning of the independent, Austrian eyewear brand ANDY WOLF EYEWEAR. In 2006 the label was founded by Andreas Pirkheim (better known as Andy) and Wolfgang Scheucher (the wolf in the name). What started very small and with a big vision to combine local, traditional eyewear craftsmanship with contemporary, innovative design is now worn and loved worldwide.
