SEA2SEE partners with OPTIPLUS IN THE NETHERLANDS
Sea2see is excited to announce the appointment of Optiplus for sole distribution of the Sea2see “seastainable” eyewear collection in the Netherlands.
Optiplus is a leading supplier of optical products, based in Leek in Groningen Province, northeastern Netherlands. For more than 30 years, Optiplus has been sharing its expertise and passion for optics with their Dutch customers.
In a statement about the new relationship with Optiplus, Sea2see’s Founder, François van den Abeele said:
“I look forward to growing our presence in Holland with Optiplus who have much expertise in their local market. They will be exhibiting the Sea2see collections at the BOLD Optical Fair on 8th and 9th September 2024, an event where we have always flourished thanks to the opticians’ progressive understanding of the need to adopt truly sustainable practices in the eyewear business. We wish to develop and expand upon our relationship with local opticians through this new relationship.”
“We are delighted to be the official Sea2See distributor for the Dutch market. There is a strong and growing demand for sustainability in our region, so we believe our partnership with Sea2See holds great promise. In today’s eyewear industry, a brand needs to offer more than just great design.
We see Sea2See as a pioneer in this field, creating high-quality products from ‘waste’ and delivering a powerful message about sustainable change – a cause that Optiplus wholeheartedly supports.  We are looking forward to showcasing the Sea2see collection and sharing the brand’s inspiring story with our customers at the BOLD Optical Fair.”
Sea2see will exhibit at the Bold Optical Fair on 8 + 9 September 2024.
About Sea2See
Sea2see designs and produces optical frames and sunglasses in Italy, as well as watches in Switzerland, entirely made with recycled marine plastic collected by fishermen in Spain, France and West Africa. Rather than just creating eyewear or watches, they offer a symbol of change that can be embraced by anyone who supports the health of our oceans.
Established in 2015, Sea2See has been striving to raise awareness about ocean plastic pollution and the unsustainable practices in the optical and fashion sectors. They have led the way in implementing sustainable changes in the eyewear sector, showcasing that marine plastic waste can be an excellent resource for raw materials.Â
Sea2See aims to raise global awareness about ocean plastic pollution and the unsustainable fashion industry, advocating for a circular economy through chic products that drive change. They recognize potential where others see waste. With 256 kg of plastic entering our oceans every second, they believe it’s high time to take action.
They are committed to sustainable product design, usage, and assembly, viewing it as one of today’s most significant challenges. Their consumers, who are environmentally conscious, demand environmentally friendly materials, sustainable resource usage, reduced emissions, and heightened social commitments from their chosen brands.
