Neubau // Shapes of Motion

Neubau Eyewear presents the first collection made from sustainable acetate of modern design classics in a luminous color palette

Since 2016, the Austrian eyewear label NEUBAU EYEWEAR stands for high-quality premium design based on a sustainable brand philosophy. Known best for their innovative solutions for resource-efficient eyewear production, NEUBAU is presenting their first collection made of sustainable acetate in fall 2022.

The purely plant-based material forms the foundation for this elaborate collection of modern design eyewear with the title “SHAPES OF MOTION”, which are characterized by a unique, deep color scheme. In a total of eight handcrafted optical shapes, NEUBAU shows its expertise in combining high-quality material with classic designs and bright colors, whose transparent textures offer a contemporary balance for every day.

A sustainable ensemble of forms, colors and materials

Eight optical eyewear designs present themselves in a variety of shape options and designs. With a palette ranging from luminous “Honey”, transparent “Rose” to classic “Brown Havana”, NEUBAU offers special color variations in the new collection. The basis for this sustainable interplay of contemporary classic shapes and deep coloration is the new material natural Acetate.

Natural Acetate is a purely plant-based material composition of cotton and wood. Contrary to traditionally used acetates, this sustainable material creation is made without harmful components and uses only plant-based plasticizers. As a result, the material is considered biodegradable and particularly environmentally friendly. In a striking combination with a temple made of high-quality titanium, NEUBAU EYEWEAR creates its first natural acetate collection in a balanced design that combines bright accents of the glasses with minimalist elements and classic modernity.

Nature as an ever-present companion

Designed and handmade in the carbon-neutral production facility in the heart of Austria, the elements of nature inspire the design process as an ever-present companion. Thus, for the “SHAPES OF MOTION” collection, NEUBAU finds inspiration in the flowing yet powerful movements of water. In addition to alluding to transparent textures, the symbolic image of water in this collection stands for a deeper meaning. Like water, the collection “SHAPES OF MOTION” explores new paths for sustainable
solutions in constant motion and transformation. The new material stands for another sustainable milestone and proves that premium design and the appreciative treatment of nature go hand in hand.

The shapes “JOSI”, “LENI”, “FLO”, “HELMUT”, “RUPERT”, “GUSTAV”, “KARL” and “ALENA” will be available in four colorways each for a price of 380 euros from September 2022.

About the campaign:

The campaign for “SHAPES OF MOTION” was created and shot by South African-based photographer Nadia von Scotti. Her extraordinary connection with nature and design resulted in a series of images in which the models of the new product line are presented in the breathtaking scenery of the red beaches of Santorini. In doing so, the campaign symbolizes the inspiration of the campaign as the flowing movements of the water find their way to around the rocky shoreline.
