A Cold Wall

This season RETROSUPERFUTURE is pleased to announce one of its most anticipated collaborative projects: the second release of its partnership with A Cold Wall.

Over the last few years, A Cold Wall has grown from an upand-coming, innovative brand to one of the most authoritative names of the scene, capturing the zeitgeist with its take on workwear uniforms and British street culture.

This season, the release pushes ACW’s iconic industrial aesthetic research, further working with new concepts and sophisticated acetate finishes.

Samuel Ross, the creative mastermind behind A Cold Wall, has become an iconic name within the creative industries, known for his partnerships with some of the most celebrated designers and brands in contemporary fashion.

Since ACW’s launch in 2015, Ross has been developing the brand’s distinctive vision, characterized by a multidisciplinary approach and aesthetics rooted in Britain’s industrial heritage and working-class culture.

High-tech materials, workwear uniforms and a close, careful attention to materials, form an essential part of ACW’s output.

This season, the partnership between RSF and ACW further explores this post-industrial, urban aesthetics with two eyewear models. The first set is composed of two new editions of Caro, the distinctive silhouette that ACW had adapted for the first edition of the collaboration.

Its squared geometries, with wide in-set lenses and ultra-thick build, are carved from sturdy blocks of rich acetate. Underlining the bold and determined aesthetics of the object.

One version features a marblesque stone acetate paired with a sulfuric yellow crystal acetate for the lenses and tips. The second version, on the other hand, is a much darker interpretation, with a thick black stone acetate paired with a dark grey crystal acetate and matching lenses.

The second set of the collection is a re-edition of an iconic RSF silhouette: the America.

America is a minimalist, angular piece, characterized by its clean-cut and versatile frame design.

For this collection, ACW’s designers have worked on a study of greyscale combinations: From grey concrete to sandy finishes and dusty stones of urban modernist architecture.

The first version, America Greyscale 1, works with a series of warmer, more earthy set of grey tones, starting from a light warm grey crystal acetate on one temple tip, and ending with a dark, matte brown grey tone on the opposite temple. The second version adopts cooler grey tones, with a combination of light crystal grey hues and dark, matte grey tones. Both models feature mineral glass tempered lenses.

All four models come with dedicated branding inscriptions on the interior of the temples, celebrating the exclusive partnership.
