Translating Sculptural Frames Into Sunglasses

Paloceras expands its sculptural language into sunlight with the Paloceras Nouvelle Fiction Sun collection.

What began as an exploration of inflated acetate volumes now evolves into a sunglasses concept where light, color and movement redefine how these shapes are experienced.

How Paloceras Nouvelle Fiction Sun Evolves the Collection

The Nouvelle Fiction Sun collection builds on the award-winning Pebble series, translating its distinctive volumes into softer, more rounded silhouettes. Where earlier optical frames focused on clarity and indoor wear, Paloceras Nouvelle Fiction Sun shifts the same design language into an outdoor context.

Tinted lenses change everything. The sculptural forms remain, but their presence becomes more dynamic, reacting to light and surroundings. The result feels less controlled, more fluid, while still rooted in the same precise design approach.

A Manufacturing Process That Defines the Form

At the core of the Paloceras sunglasses collection is a production method that moves beyond standard acetate construction. Each frame is crafted from premium Mazzucchelli cellulose acetate and shaped using a specialised heat-moulding technique.

This process allows the material to expand into the inflated volumes that define the collection. These shapes cannot be achieved through conventional milling, making the production method inseparable from the final design.

The frames feel sculptural, yet lightweight. Controlled in structure, but organic in how they sit and move.

Lenses are developed in collaboration with Divel Italia and bring technical performance into the collection. Three lens types define how the frames interact with light: standard tinted lenses for everyday wear, polarised lenses that reduce surface glare, and photochromic lenses that adapt to changing conditions, shifting from clear to dark.

Each frame is completed with custom gold-plated Visottica hardware, adding a refined and considered detail to the temples.

Color That Works With Light, Not Against It

Color plays a structural role within the Nouvelle Fiction Sun collection. The palette moves through frosted aquas, milky blues, warm browns, vivid greens, dusty roses and smoky greys.

Transparent and sandblasted finishes interact differently with light, creating depth within the acetate itself. Instead of sitting on the surface, color becomes part of how the frame is perceived.

This creates a balance between softness and intensity, where the frames feel expressive without becoming overwhelming.

Paloceras Sunglasses Collection Expands Its Identity

With Paloceras Nouvelle Fiction Sun, the brand continues its transition from a niche optical concept into a broader eyewear offering. Since the introduction of the Pebble series, Paloceras has developed a design language that treats frames as sculptural objects rather than purely functional accessories.

This collection reinforces that direction. The volumes remain distinctive, but the experience becomes lighter, more wearable, and more adaptable to everyday life.

As Design Director Alexis Perron-Corriveau explains, the intention was never to follow expected paths. The challenge was to let unconventional shapes feel natural, and to allow complexity to appear effortless.

“None of our collections could have been made if we’d listened. The shapes, the colours, the craft, none of it has been the obvious choice. With Nouvelle Fiction Sun, we wanted to make these impossible shapes surprise in a subtle way”.

From Workshop to Everyday Wear

The journey of the Nouvelle Fiction Sun collection begins in the workshop, but finds its purpose in daily use. The frames shift with light, reveal new tones throughout the day, and adapt to different environments. That balance defines the collection. Serious in how it is made, but easy in how it is worn.

The Paloceras Nouvelle Fiction Sun collection is available from April 14, 2026 via Paloceras and selected boutiques worldwide.

About Paloceras

Paloceras is a Spanish eyewear brand that redefines contemporary design through the fusion of art, science, and digital craftsmanship. What sets Paloceras apart is its commitment to innovation through form and materiality. Rather than following traditional eyewear aesthetics, the brand approaches design as a dialogue between digital precision and human emotion, allowing light, texture, and volume to play central roles. Every creation evokes the natural forces that inspire it, captured in a moment of stillness and transformed into wearable art.

Paloceras continues to push the frontier of independent eyewear, where design serves not only vision but imagination. Each limited-edition collection reflects a meticulous process of experimentation, artistry, and respect for modern technology.

Paloceras // Leopard Lace eyewear collaboration

Leopard Lace is where identity becomes form. In collaboration with Djibril Cissé, Paloceras introduces a limited edition eyewear capsule shaped through pressed acetate construction rather than traditional milling. Two optical frames, rooted in personal symbolism and refined for everyday wear, explore volume, structure, and permanence. Each individually numbered piece reflects a shared belief in eyewear as something lived, not styled.

Paloceras // Hydroceras – Liquid Frozen in Time

Paloceras introduces Hydroceras, a limited edition eyewear collection that merges digital sculpting, algorithmic design, and 3D printed craftsmanship. Each frame embodies the sensation of flowing water, momentarily stilled to create a wearable work of art. From Cryosea’s liquid blue to Noctyra’s shimmering grey, Paloceras Hydroceras redefines what eyewear can be, fusing technology and artistry in perfect balance.
