Hong Kong International Optical Fair // Embracing Innovation

Hybrid Exhibition Model and Global Connectivity

From November 6-8, 2024, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre will host the 32nd edition of the Hong Kong International Optical Fair, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). This year’s event will feature a hybrid model, “EXHIBITION+”, which integrates in-person interactions with the “Click2Match” online business matching platform, active from October 30 to November 15, enhancing global trade opportunities.

Diverse International Participation

The fair will welcome over 700 exhibitors, including pavilions from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and various regions of Mainland China. The inclusion of the Visionaries of Style (VOS) and the Hong Kong Optical Manufacturers Association (HKOMA) underscores the fair’s extensive international reach and influence.

Spotlight on Renowned Brands and New Technologies

Highlighting the Brand Name Gallery, the fair will showcase around 200 esteemed international brands like ANNE MARII, BOLON CLASSICO, and VIVIENNE WESTWOOD, illustrating the latest in eyewear fashion and technology. Attendees will have access to cutting-edge products across multiple categories, from Smart Eyewear to Professional Sporting Goods, enhancing their inventory and knowledge of current market trends.

Interactive Features and Educational Opportunities

New to this year is the “Scan2Match” feature, which facilitates seamless offline-to-online networking via the HKTDC Marketplace App—allowing continued engagement post-event. Moreover, the 22nd Hong Kong International Optometric Symposium, set for November 7, will feature a discourse on myopia management by international experts, emphasising the fair’s role in advancing optical education.

Cultivating Creativity and Innovation

In collaboration with HKOMA, the 24th Hong Kong Eyewear Design Competition themed “Be Bold” will spotlight local innovation. This competition fosters creativity within the optical sector, with winning designs showcased during the fair, affirming Hong Kong’s role as a creative hub in the eyewear industry.
