TEFtalk // Baars Eyewear

At Bold Optical Fair, we had a little TEFtalk with one of the nicest and certainly one of the funniest guys within the optical arena. Baars Eyewear founder Christian Leicht showed us his latest designs of eyewear that brings true meaning to the word “Hinge-less”, for in a Baars frame, there is no hinge! (Matrix pun intended). Oh, and before I forget, don’t forget to check out their new collab with the amazing Julia Gogosha!

About Baars Eyewear:

BAARS EYEWEAR is a French eyewear brand. It started with two friends, a Designer and electronic music Artist from Paris & an Optician from Annecy. It is a reflection of two personalities and two complementary worlds. It is a bridge between cultural emulation of a Capital city, and the tranquility of a lakeside life.

These meetings and encounters gave a Human dimension to the project, and it is also thanks to the combination of different specialties and know-hows that BAARS became possible.

Aware of the quality of the environment around them, the founders share and express in their daily lives the values of BAARS: simplicity and quality « Product Lovers, we were convinced that we could make glasses evolve.

The hinge seemed to be a key aspect to improve. The creation of a new magnetic system arises from the application of a design process to the product. » It took several months of research; engineering, testing and prototypes to finally start the BAARS adventure.

This adventure would not be possible without the participation of enthusiasts and experts who, along with the founders, wrote the BAARS story.
