25 eyewear and fashion bloggers walked the halls of Opti this year, and on our tour around the opti-BOXES – the area for upcoming brands – we were treated to novelties in eyewear design from around the globe. Each year, Opti organizes this Blogger Spectacle to create extra buzz for innovating brands and give a platform for new brands to showcase their designs to these influencers and see their baby go viral.
This project embodies the attitude of a streetwear brand with the know-how of an independent creative eyewear label. We have created a strong, identity driven sunglass collection, cultivated on the streets, at the heart of the avant-garde factions of urban culture.
And like every edition, this tour had his grand-finale, the opti Blogger Spectacle Award. A price awarded to the most promising newcomer, judged by bloggers from all over the world. This year’s winner was the British newcomer Covrt Project. A standalone eyewear brand designed by Marcello Martino, who is a specialist frame designer for streetwear connoisseurs.
The label sets out to highlight the perception of eyewear as a fashion accessory in a collection that embraces new technologies, advanced materials and state of the art details culminating in outstanding aesthetics and unrivaled functionality.
Marcello felt challenged to design an impactful collection for himself and his circle of friends that would perfectly fit their individual style and perspective – beyond all other existing, overtly branded products. We feel that with these unique designs, and the cool man-purse that comes along with it, he did just that and won this award fair and square! Congratulations on your win!
