A Timeless resort Look

Resort wear

I’ve had this glorious fish caftan for three years now and I always enjoy wearing it. It’s part of the Tropical Beach Collection by Rose Fulbright. It’s handmade in London from organic cotton, silk and hemp. Founder and designer Rose Fulbright-Vickers started her eponymous label in London after studying at the Parsons School Paris and the London College of Fashion. She’s a believer in conscious luxury and slow fashion. I adore the fact that this caftan is still available. It gives it the timelessness it so deserves; this is no one-season wonder. I wore it in Nerja and again in Calpe. It is effortlessly elegant, cool and is the epitome of beach to bar dressing. Here I’m barefoot because we had just got off the beach but I usually wear it with beaded flat leather sandals.

The Perfect Pair

What is the perfect eyewear to compliment this silk tropical caftan? Even though the colours are vibrant, they have a softness to them so the eyewear needs to be equally delicate. Clear spectacle frames flatter all skin tones and compliment every imaginable outfit. They work particularly well with light, (both colour and weight), clothing though because they don’t detract or compete. These by Bolon are  very lightweight and very comfortable, an important consideration in hot weather. I have got sapphire blue Transitions Style Colours in the frame, in a varifocal so I can read on the beach. These lenses adapt to surrounding light conditions and darken in bright light. (I wrote about Transitions Style Colours in detail when they first came out two years ago in this post). The sapphire colour is subtle and gives the loveliest hint of blue to the lenses in their darkened state. They are absolutely ideal when popping in and out of shops, or going into a restaurant or bar because they fade back to their clear state which saves taking them off and on.
