Alexis GILLES continues to expand his portfolio, introducing limited edition collections that showcase his creative flair at his Silmo Paris booth.
His designs are refreshingly unique, and are a far cry from traditional collections. His work features decorative insertions, hop flower inclusions, volume work, facial engravings, and more.
Drawing on both optical and workshop experience, Alexis understands the needs of both wearers and opticians. He recognized that opticians frequently grapple with inventory constraints.
To address this, he offers a diverse color palette and adjustable sizing options, promising less stock and more choice. His frames, designed for in-store disassembly, enable quick replacement of mechanical parts.
Additionally, the adjustable elements are easily accessible, ensuring opticians can fine-tune the fit without damaging the frame. Prioritizing wearer comfort, Alexis’s frames boast optimized nose contact surfaces and rounded, shoulder-fitted branches. The branches can even be shortened by 10mm for a personalized fit.
Alexis GILLES now offers three customisable collections: “Les petits ponts”, “Constellation” with acetate branches, and “V8” with wide branches.
About Alexis GILLES
Alexis Gilles, an optician since 2001, pursued further expertise in eyewear manufacturing by studying at the prestigious school of the best workers in Morez, Jura, in 2019. By 2021, he launched his first collections: “Les Petits Ponts,” designed for small faces and juniors, and “Alexis Gilles,” catering to adults.
With his extensive optician experience, Alexis understands both wearer and optician needs.
His collections offer an innovative solution to common challenges: a range of customizable colors for frames and temples, and adjustable sizes with just a few modifications—reducing stock while expanding choice.
The frames are fully disassemblable in-store, allowing for quick replacement of mechanical parts. Adjustment elements are easily accessible for precise fitting without damaging the frame. For wearer comfort, the frames feature an exceptional nose contact surface, shouldered and rounded branches for optimal ear passage, and even customizable branch lengths up to 10mm.
Currently, there are three customizable collections: “Les Petits Ponts”, “Constellation” with acetate branches, and “V8” with wide branches up to 150mm. Alexis Gilles also crafts limited edition collections showcasing his creativity with unique features such as decorative insets, hop flower inclusions, volumetric designs, and engravings.
