A beautiful box arrived at TEF HQ today, with an even more breathtaking frame design by our friends at Tavat Eyewear. Check out their reinterpretation of the Soupcan, with this milled brass model Root in the unbox video below:
This reinterpretation of their classic Soupcan design is milled out of a three-milimetre brass plate and has a more droopy shape than its original panto predecessor. Available in three beautiful gun-like colours, this version here is a combination of a forest-green frame with a light-green lens.
Their Root design is made for the wanderers, who are passionately in love with life. Who live for tomorrow, and are in search of new opportunities, findings, and experiences, which will bring them tremendous satisfaction. If you know where you are from, it is harder for people to stop where you are going. When the root is deep, there is no reason to fear the wind.
Their SoupCan collection is inspired by how aviation goggles were thought to be made back in 1930s America, from soup cans! Forget the traditional methods of manufacturing: TAVAT completely bypassed all of those norms and standards and sought out true eyewear artisans to bring something revolutionary.
