Scicon // Auroscope: Sports performance sunglasses

Scicon Sports launches a new sports performance sunglass model during the 2023 Giro d’Italia—The Aeroscope. This model extends beyond the expected and delivers tailored precision for the ultimate cycling experience.

The Aeroscope entirely redefines adjustability, having been designed in partnership with professional cyclists and with great attention to detail.

Tailoring your overall eyewear experience is key to performance without limits. In pursuit of doing so, four key features, along with others, make this model a force to be reckoned with.

One of the Aeroscope’s main features are the length-adjustable temple arms called Scala™, which allow you to discover your ideal fit for any helmet retention system and head dimension. Effortlessly extend or retract the temple arms to set the length that suits your needs, ensuring maximum comfort and stability on your rides.

The Horizon Adapt™ mechanism is a height-adjustable nosepiece that lets you fine-tune your field of vision with precision. Whether you prefer an aggressive low-riding position or a more relaxed upright stance, it is customisable by 5mm. With the push or pull of the Horizon Adapt™ nosepiece, each rider can adapt the position of the lens, eliminating glare and discomfort.

A VenteX™ funnel is located in the top centre of the lens and is strategically placed outside your eyesight to protect your view from direct light. It mainly facilitates airflow to prevent fog buildup behind the lens and allows for seamless lens replacement using the interchangeable lens system.

Designed specifically for cycling, the frame’s Pantoscopic tilt of 12° is twice that of standard eyewear. This addition gives cyclists an optimal lens angle while wearing a helmet, reducing aerodynamic resistance and improving performance.

SCN-PP™ True vision lenses

With true protection and optical clarity, the SCN-PP™ UV400 lens blocks all light up to 400 NM, including UVA and UVB rays. It is coated with Hydrophobic and Oleophobic treatments to repel water, oil, and dirt for clear vision in challenging conditions, allowing one to see colour and contrast in more detail.

Comfort and Fit

The multi-directional adjustability of the Flexifit™ nose pad and customisable Flexifit™ temple tips provide unmatched comfort and a secure fit, so you can focus on your ride without distractions.

Ecologically produced frame

The environmentally friendly bio-based frame rounds off a 65mm mono lens. The frame incorporates vegetable oil that is safer for the environment, it is durable, lightweight and can withstand even the harshest conditions, all while reducing its carbon footprint.

Race tested & proven

Extensive research and testing were conducted to create the high-performance Aeroscope sunglass model, designed specifically with cyclists in mind. UAE Team Emirates was at the forefront, having tested the official line of prototypes at the Milano Sanremo race in March this year.

The testing continued in every race thereafter and saw Tadej Pogačar win two consecutive races wearing the Aeroscope: The Tour of Flanders & The Amstel Gold Race. This model was also tested on the brutal course of Paris-Roubaix, proving its worth under extreme conditions. Before releasing a new product to the public, input from the riders was essential to ensuring the best possible performance.

At Scicon Sports, they are dedicated to creating top-quality eyewear, and the Aeroscope is a prime example of this commitment.
