Vinylize – Wear the music

Vinylize recycles more than 3 tons of vinyl records yearly. The connection to music is strong and this is reflected in the function of the 177m2 (1900 sqft) space. The flagship store also doubles as an entertainment venue with a stage, DJ booth, and mezcal bar.

The sales office converts into a DJ booth. The stage looks down onto the showroom floor from the mezzanine. All the furniture on the sales floor is mobile so guests can stomp their feet once it is transformed into a dancefloor. A state-of-the-art sound system blankets the flagship store in high-quality audio, controlled from the converted cash desk. The office morphs into a VIP lounge.

The Mezcal bar (the only one in Budapest) features nearly 40 varieties from across Mexico, many not available elsewhere in Europe. Specialty cocktails include Mezcal Tonic and Oaxaca Negroni.

About Vinylize

Vinylize has recycled more than 40 tons of vinyl since its launch in 2004. The history of Vinylize goes back to the early 2000s when founder Zachary Tipton performed his first experiments with different plastics. After finding his father’s long-forgotten collection of records in the garage, the brand was born. The first frames were made of old vinyl records from the communist era, bargain-hunted at the flea markets of Budapest.

Vinylize is handmade in the heart of Europe. Awarded by Red Dot, A-Design, and Optic For Good, our eyewear designs combine contemporary style with a distinctive, eye-catching approach. We upcycle discarded manmade materials to create handmade eyewear that’s built to last years.

Since then, Vinylize has entered into collaboration with Motown, Maui Jim, Miles Davis and has designed eyewear for a number of prominent members of the music industry, including AC/DC, Sir Richard Branson, Sir Elton John, Robbie Williams, Mick Fleetwood, Elvis Costello, Shawn Mendes, and Ed Sheeran. The products of the company are marketed all over the globe in over 500 stores.
