Lunor // Avantgarde all along the line

Lunor expands its A12 collection by new retro models

Jazz, Charleston, pomp and circumstance: The Roaring Twenties are considered a colorful era. They not only mark the transition to the modern age but also stand for the heyday of the art and cultural scene. The art trends at the time – New Functionalism and Bauhaus – shaped generations of young artists, and still reverberate in the design scene. The same goes for Lunor. With its A12 line, the Black-Forest spectacles manufacture has already been dedicating an own collection to the time of the Great Gatsby since last year, which is now expanded by another four shapes.

About a century later, the aesthetics of the Roaring Twenties still stand for avant-garde extravagance. Lunor revives that in its A12 collection and convinces style enthusiasts with high-end retro charm. Created at the design forge in Bad Liebenzell, the timeless frames are inspired by historic models reinterpreted today.

Classic, striking, modern

Already the first frames of the A12 launched in 2020 showed: Retro also works modern! Lunor starts trends for tomorrow with the look of the vintage classics and convinces with a fine but striking design vocabulary. The eyecatchers in round, panto, anatomic, and square are joined by models now whose design concept fits in with the line stylistically confident. Thus, a crown panto frame draws attention to the rim around the brows in a masterly fashion, an octagonal variant adds geometric refinement, and the two variants with anatomic and small panto silhouette harmoniously caress one’s face. Their smaller size, lowered cheeks, broad temples, and keyhole bridge give these frames their iconic look.

Made of high-grade hand-polished acetate, all the frames have the characteristic self-developed Lunor double rivet hinges. They are also the trademark of the Black- Forest spectacles manufacture and stand for high-grade durability and functionality. The models A12 504, 505, 506, and 507 are available in the colors Black, Dark Havana as well as Havana Spotted.

About Lunor

Lunor AG is appreciated by spectacles aficionados as a manufacturer of quality. In this, understatement not only characterizes the design of the brand but is also the unspoken mission statement of the company. As a highly specialized glasses manufacturer with an extensive range, Lunor has been producing German-made vintage glasses for over 25 years, gaining international appreciation in the process. Stars such as Daniel Craig, Johnny Depp, Meg Ryan and Uma Thurman have all been seen in their Lunor glasses. Apple founder Steve Jobs was also a big fan of the German premium brand.

The rimless glasses that he wore without fail for 14 years originated with Lunor, advancing from a niche model to achieve cult status.

The collection also includes antique-looking metal rims, titanium frames, sunglasses and a broad range of acetate frames in retro design. The creation of each frame requires up to 200 individual steps. This attention to detail is appreciated worldwide. Markets with the strongest sales include the US, South Korea, France and Japan.
