On a somewhat sunny day in downtown Boston, Alissa is wearing a frame that appears to be all wet. Meet “Mauerpark Jaspis” by ic! berlin, a Cat Eye-shaped frame from their Classic collection made of Stainless steel. We love this unique chipped terrazzo texture that gives the frame a look like drops of water are running of the metal, even on a sunny day.
Mauerpark is located in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg district. The name translates to “Wall Park,” referring to its status as a former part of the Berlin Wall. Like all their frames, Mauerpark is 100% designed and manufactured in Berlin.
This frame used to come in five different pastel-like colors and features on-trend ton-sur-ton matching lens colors. This is their newest Jaspis version that comes with this cool pattern.
About ic! berlin
Founded in 1996, ic! berlin makes the very finest, hand-made eyewear for people who dare to see the world through their own eyes.
Headquartered in Berlin, Germany, with a signature flagship store in Berlin, our more than 180 craftsmen, engineers, and technicians design, build, and market our original eyewear designs across 60 countries worldwide.
In spite of our global footprint, we still craft each of our eyewear pieces by hand in our state-of-the-art manufactory in Berlin. Our creations are worn by the world’s curious, creative individuals. They’re people who see and think with their own eyes–from entrepreneurs, architects, and musicians to artists, political leaders, and scientists.
Seeing things from new perspectives is embedded in our company’s DNA. We combine the original, no-screw hinge with stainless steel, titanium, synthetic, and natural materials. The result is a robust, lightweight eyewear design. It helped us consistently earn awards at the world’s top optical trade and design fairs, including the coveted SILMO D’Or.
