Tarian // Celebrating materials’ simplicity

[perfectpullquote align=”left” bordertop=”false” cite=”Jeremy Tarian” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=”16″]I invite you to meet eyewear and ceramics, two of my great passions that led me to create these unique sunglasses; the union of the noble material titanium, crafted in Japan, and fragments of colorful ceramics from far-away lands, that truly make the eyewear exceptional pieces.[/perfectpullquote]

Chantal is wearing Ponzo, by Jeremy Tarian. A frame from his DOLCE series, that celebrates color, a subtle combination of two-tone acetate for men and women.

It’s time for holidays and carelessness. The song by the legendary French chanteuse Francoise Hardy, sparked the concept for this Autumn/Winter 2019 season, which kindled a sweet nostalgia and room for creativity.

TARIAN spotlights craft’s natural raw materials: clays, enamels, acetate and metals. Ornamental and useful, both my glasses and ceramics are designed and crafted in keeping with craft’s traditions: small series, natural materials, meticulous care for details and the beauty of handmade creations.

Eyewear frames are traditionally made and assembled in both France (Jura) and Japan and the ceramics are individually handmade in his Parisian studio.

About Jeremy

As a child, Jeremy was already taller than his classmates, had a long nose and suffered from high degree myopia. The need for glasses was felt early on. After studying Finance, he went back to his first passion: creation. Indeed, it all started when Jeremy was just 10 years old when his mum had the brilliant idea to enroll him on a ceramic course at the Ateliers du Carrousel du Louvre because he didn’t enjoy sports as much as the other boys did.

The passion still lives on 20 years down the line. Trained at New York’s Parsons School of Design, Jeremy gained experience at ic! Berlin before naturally launching my own brand, Tarian, in 2010, to design his own creations. Jeremy loves colors and raw materials: mixes of acetate shavings for my eyewear, combinations of pigmented clays form marbled ceramics. His world revolves around the commingling of these two passions.
