Congrats to Jean Francois and his lovely wife Joëlle for winning this year’s V Award in the Tech category with their concept WAVE. Not the category I would expect right away, knowing (and loving) the organic shapes by JF Rey Eyewear Design, but when taking a closer look, the skillset and craftsmanship required to create these beautiful pieces of wearable art are truly a technological highlight on their own.

Organized by our friends at VOS MAGAZINE, this famous international eyewear competition in Asia-Pacific is a wonderful international distinction for Jean-François Rey, and also the opportunity to highlight the technological French know-how and very distinctive creativity of the designer.
The jury, made up of stylists, international journalists and optical specialists (although nobody asked for my opinion), rewarded the originality and the inventiveness of this colorful metal frame that stands out for the folding and coloring of thin stainless-steel stripes that criss-cross on the front. Design and colors harmonize in an elegant minimalist spirit and give the model its singular visual strength, its unique character.[URIS id=16432]
VOS is short for “Visionaries of Styles” and is a highlighted section in Hong Kong Optical Fair every year. Organized by Overcome Creative Company Limited in collaboration with Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), VOS gathers only high quality international designer brands. Our good friends at JF Rey received the award with great pleasure, as well as their team of suppliers, and factories in Jura who closely worked and contributed to the success of this challenge. And well earned if you ask me!
