Monoqool – Comfortably Cool.

Monoqool selected the new Museum of Rock in Roskilde as the venue for the SS 2019 campaign ‘Comfortably Cool’. The museum was designed by renowned Danish architect office COBE. The architecture of the museum is very inspired by the works of another Danish design icon – Verner Panton – who with his space-age design completely shocked the world in the 60s and 70s. The very colourful museum with its strong red and gold walls served as the perfect backdrop to the new glasses of the season.

Both featuring a 3D printed front with details in metal to create a new look. Featuring the no screws and no soldered parts, the 3D printed glasses are minimalist to the bone. All unnecessary elements are removed. True to the Danish design tradition. One example of the ‘unique’ new Alcapulco sunglasses with a square shape turned 45 degrees features red tinted mirror lenses that make a statement. Not for everyone’s taste probably, but certainly for the people who want to stand out.

MONOQOOL
Innovation & Comfort

Innovation & comfort is the guiding light for Danish eyewear brand Monoqool. Founded more than 10 years ago, Monoqool focused on innovation right from the beginning. The selection of frames in the market already at that time was mind-blowing, and it was clear to founder Allan G Petersen that without creating something unique and special the company would stand no chance in this market environment.

Since the humble beginnings, Monoqool has come up with several unique solutions, which has won them 8 international design awards. Monoqool was one of the pioneers within 3D printed glasses, which now have developed into a product category of its own.

For Monoqool 3D printing is today just a tool. A production method without any design limitation, which has allowed the company to make glasses completely without any screws, without any soldering and in a lightweight material. The frames are weighing down to 4 grams.

Comfort is very important to the company. Their new campaign for this season is named ‘Comfortably Cool’. It is about enhancing the look of the wearer, but at the same time create glasses that are extremely comfortable. The weight of the 3D print polyamide materials is very low and that combined with developing a frame which is very easy for the optician to adjust makes the glasses very comfortable to wear. All day long.
