theo LOCKS titanium collection
A hidden technical component becomes the defining feature of a new ultra-light titanium eyewear collection.
Some of the world’s most recognisable design objects were shaped by function rather than decoration. The octagonal body of the Bialetti Moka was created to improve grip. Philippe Starck’s Juicy Salif transformed the act of squeezing citrus into a sculptural object. Even the humble paperclip is simply a technical solution that became an iconic form.
When function is reduced to its essence, design emerges. The new theo LOCKS titanium collection begins with that same idea. Its design is built around a component that normally remains unnoticed: the locking block that secures the lens inside the frame. Rather than hiding this functional detail, theo has turned it into the central feature of the collection.
Stamped, Not Welded
For the first time within the theo universe, the locking blocks are not welded onto the frame. Instead, they are stamped directly from a single piece of ultra-light titanium, becoming an integral part of the front.
The result is both a technical development and the foundation of a new design language.

Two-tone colour combinations guide the eye towards the point where the lens and frame meet. It is the exact location where the construction comes together and where the functional locking mechanism becomes visible.
The shapes are clean, geometric and purposeful. Every line has a reason to exist, allowing the structure and engineering of the frame to remain firmly in focus.
Minimal. Mechanical. Meaningful.
The precision of the LOCKS collection recalls a technical drawing or a carefully engineered mechanism. Nothing is excessive, while even the smallest details contribute to the character of the frame.
By making the locking block visible, theo draws attention to the craftsmanship that usually disappears inside the finished product. The collection demonstrates that technical details do not need to remain purely practical. When treated with intention, they can create identity, rhythm and visual tension.
Named After the Mechanism
The five models within the collection follow the same functional logic. Their names refer directly to different forms of holding, fastening and closure.
Model Clamps:

Clamp holds with industrial certainty, translating strength and stability into a clean, purposeful frame.
Model Grip:

Grip keeps control with precision and confidence, balancing technical clarity with a strong visual presence.
Model Click:

Click captures the satisfying moment when every element falls perfectly into place, turning mechanical logic into effortless design.
Model Hook:

Hook catches and secures with ease, combining a functional locking action with an elegant, refined silhouette.
Model Seal:

Seal provides the final closure.
Each name reinforces the mechanical inspiration behind the collection while giving every frame its own individual personality.
The Beauty of the Lock
All five models tell a shared story of precision, craftsmanship and purposeful engineering. By focusing on one of the smallest components within a frame, theo has created a family in which function becomes expression.
LOCKS proves that meaningful innovation does not always begin with a dramatic new shape or an added decorative element. Sometimes it begins by looking more closely at what is already there. At the detail that holds everything together.
