MIDO The Vision Stage
The global eyewear stage returns to Milan
From 31/1 to 2/2 2026, Milan once again becomes the global capital of eyewear as MIDO opens its doors to the international optical industry. For more than half a century, MIDO has reflected and shaped the evolution of eyewear, not as a static trade show, but as a living meeting point where people, ideas and business converge.
Free registration is available via the official MIDO website, reinforcing the show’s open invitation to the entire global eyewear community.
Each year, the full supply chain gathers under one roof. From established international manufacturers to emerging independent brands, from designers and frame makers to opticians, buyers and distributors. The most recent edition welcomed around 1,200 exhibitors and 42,000 visitors from 168 countries, confirming MIDO’s role as a true global hub for networking, commercial growth and market discovery.
Where creativity, design and renewal intersect
Among the most anticipated destinations within the show is the Academy Area, an incubator for brands driven by experimentation and design excellence. Admission here is by selection only, making it one of the most sought-after spaces at MIDO. It is a place where concepts are tested, materials are challenged, and new visual languages are allowed to emerge.
The Design Area continues this dialogue between innovation and artistry, offering a clear view of the style directions shaping future collections. Nearby, the Start Up Area shines a spotlight on young companies, encouraging exchange between generations and ensuring that fresh perspectives continue to enter the industry. Together, these areas underline MIDO’s belief that progress is built through both heritage and renewal.
Innovation, sustainability and ideas in motion
Innovation remains central to MIDO’s identity. From artificial intelligence and 3D printing to smart materials, the show highlights how advanced technologies are redefining the balance between performance, aesthetics and responsibility. Sustainability, now a fundamental business value rather than a side note, takes centre stage as brands present tangible strategies to reduce environmental impact across production and distribution.
This forward-looking mindset comes to life on The Vision Stage, where conferences and debates explore marketing, communication and consumer behaviour. Here, MIDO positions itself not just as a marketplace, but as a laboratory of ideas, inviting the industry to question, learn and adapt.
Celebrating excellence beyond the show floor
The MIDO Awards 2026, including the highly regarded Best Store Award, will once again recognise outstanding achievements in design and innovation. Applications are open until 31 December 2025, offering brands and retailers a platform to gain international recognition.
Taking place just days before the Winter Olympics, MIDO 2026 also connects seamlessly with the city of Milan itself. With the YesMilano City Pass and dedicated travel services available through the official channels, visitors are invited to experience not only the fair, but the energy of the city that hosts it.
As the eyewear world prepares to gather once again, MIDO 2026 promises a setting where commerce meets culture, and where the future of eyewear is actively shaped, not predicted.
