MIDO 2026
Registrations Open and Awards Announced
The countdown to MIDO 2026 has officially begun. From today, visitors and journalists can register through the official website to secure their place at the world’s largest optical trade show.
Last year there were 42,000 people attending in the three days, from 168 countries, alongside over 400 accredited journalists, making it one of the most global gatherings in the eyewear calendar.
MIDO 2026 Awards:
Sustainability at the Forefront
Starting October 1, applications open for the MIDO 2026 Awards, an initiative that shines a spotlight on excellence and sustainability across the eyewear sector. Exhibitors will have until December 14 to submit their candidacy for the CSE Award – Certified Sustainable Eyewear, now entering its fourth edition. Promoted by MIDO, ANFAO and Certottica, the award evaluates frames, sunglasses, and cases created with eco-friendly principles in mind, from recycled materials and reduced energy use to waste elimination and responsible supply chains.
This year introduces two important updates. First, the categories have been streamlined into three core awards: Frames, Sunglasses, and Cases. This sharper focus allows each product type to be celebrated with greater visibility and prestige. Second, MIDO is introducing the CSE Corporate Award, recognizing companies that embed ESG principles into their strategy and operations. Evolving from the Stand Up For Green initiative, this award highlights organizations that consistently drive sustainable practices at every level, showing that innovation and responsibility are inseparable.
Best Store Award at MIDO 2026
Opticians worldwide are invited to apply by December 31 for the 11th edition of the Best Store Award at MIDO 2026, which celebrates outstanding international optical centers in two categories: Design and Innovation. A jury of retail, design, and communication experts will evaluate entries based on elements such as store layout, customer experience, use of materials, and digital communication.
Last year’s winners set a high bar: Zien & Horen Frits van den Bosch (Belgium) triumphed in the Design category, while Ottica Padrin (Italy) earned recognition for Innovation. With applications now open, MIDO once again invites retailers to showcase their creativity and commitment to elevating the optical experience.
The MIDO 2026 Awards Ceremony will take place during the show itself, with full details to be released soon across the event’s website and social media channels.
