Opti 2025 // Concept takes shape

Building on the tremendous success of Opti 2024, the industry continues to support the strategic direction taken.

With the overall course and concept well-aligned, the focus now shifts to fine-tuning, optimizing, and refining Opti 2025 to address the evolving needs and challenges of the industry. The 2025 trade show will once again center around key topics such as eyewear, vision care, eye health, digitalization, sales and POS, myopia, sustainability, and education, knowledge, and careers.

Opti 2025 will welcome its visitors in Halls C1 to C4 at the Munich Trade Fair Center.

Hall C3 will serve as Opti’s informative and communicative centerpiece. The most significant innovation for 2025 is the consolidation of four theme hubs into a joint Hub Arena within Hall C3. The hub topics will cover key areas such as Next Generation, the future of the industry, myopia, and sustainability.

Also returning to Hall C3 is the Opti Runway Bar, which was successfully introduced in January in response to industry demand. This bar will once again act as a neutral networking touchpoint for all trade show visitors. Together with the Hub Arena, it will form the knowledge and networking centerpiece of Opti, connecting all product areas and fostering collaboration.

As part of the focus on education, knowledge, and careers, the Opti trade show team will host a fourth roundtable this autumn with trainees and students from the optical sector, specifically addressing their needs and expectations for Opti and the future of the industry.

Additionally, Opti will be presenting the Opti Sustainability Youngster Award for the first time, aimed at recognizing the next generation of innovators in the industry.

On the Sunday of the trade show, Opti will also host a meeting of vocational optics school teachers from across Germany—a first-of-its-kind networking event. This will provide an opportunity for educators to exchange ideas with each other and with industry exhibitors, drawing inspiration from real-world teaching practices. The event will be preceded by an informal get-together the day before.

The Opti Campus, also located in Hall C3, is where educational institutions showcase their programs, making the trade show even more appealing to school leavers and opticians looking to further their professional development in optometry. Situated in close proximity to the Opti Runway Bar, the Opti Campus provides an ideal setting for initial discussions in a relaxed atmosphere—with complimentary beverages available for most visitors.

Demonstrating the industry’s innovative spirit and willingness to take risks, Opti features two start-up areas. A new addition is Opti Visionary, a dedicated start-up area for the non-frames sector, located in Hall C3. Meanwhile, the Opti Boxes in Hall C2, as always, offer an exciting platform for start-ups in the frames sector.

And finally, don’t miss the Opti Party, which will once again take place on the evening of Friday during the trade show!

The show offers trade visitors the complete spectrum of ophthalmic products, from spectacle frames and lenses, contact lenses, refraction, diagnosis and low vision to shopfitting and technical equipment. opti is the order platform and the location for product premières by international market leaders and start-ups alike. The event was first held in 1998, and since 2008 has been organised by GHM Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen mbH.
