MASAHIROMARUYAMA, the brainchild of Japanese eyewear designer Masahiro Maruyama, consistently creates distinctive eyewear each season, embodying the idea of incomplete art. Since its inception in 2011, the brand has maintained a commitment to originality and innovation. We are genuinely excited to share that the highly anticipated “Twist” and “Erase” collections will soon be gracing our shelves, with their official release slated for late June 2024.
Twist Collection
(MM-0091, MM-0092)
The Twist collection showcases the unexpected malleability of metals. This series presents a unique fusion of human touch and metal manipulation, as each piece is carefully hand-twisted by skilled artisans using specialized tools.
This process adds a three-dimensional effect to the frames, making them appear lighter and more dynamic than their innate rigid nature. The resulting design is a testament to the surprising elegancy that can be achieved when raw materials are transformed with authenticity, creativity, and precision.
The Twist collection, comprising two distinct models each available in four enticing color variations, is authentically designed to enhance your style. Anticipate their arrival from June 2024 onwards.
Èrase Collection
(MM-0089,MM-0090)
The Erase collection draws its inspiration from the simple yet powerful act of erasing pencil lines with an eraser. It challenges the conventional layout of components, effectively erasing the lines of the norm.
A striking line traced on the erased becomes its defining feature. Designed with precision, it offers a unique perspective from the right, left, and front, subtly setting you apart from the rest.
The Erase collection, with its two unique models offered in four captivating color variations, is crafted with a genuine focus on enhancing your personal style. Look forward to their launch starting June 2024.
About MASAHIROMARUYAMA
Masahiro Maruyama, an internationally renowned eyewear designer, is known for his unique and innovative approach to design, particularly his emphasis on asymmetry. His eyewear creations, which can be found in the finest stores worldwide, are considered works of art. Produced in Japan’s Fukui prefecture, an area with a rich history of eyewear manufacturing, these frames are carefully crafted in the established Sabae City factory.
Their team relies on skilled craftsmen rather than computerized methods to bring to life the intricate details of each asymmetrical design. Creating a pair of these eyewear frames is a meticulous process. It involves multiple steps such as mold production, pressing, brazing, polishing, and assembly.
The frames, made of lightweight yet robust pure titanium or Mazzucchelli’s acetate for plastic variants, require advanced techniques for processing and polishing. The craftsmen meticulously handcraft each piece, ensuring a comfortable fit and a seamless transition of thickness in the unique asymmetric design.
