Erkers's 1879 Eyewear

Erker’s 1879 // New Eyeglasses for Spring

This Spring, Erker’s 1879 has widely expanded their eyeglass selection with the release of 12 new eyeglass models, available in 4-5 colorways each.

This release brings new frames to their A.P. Collection, which was inspired by their founding father, Adolf P. Erker, who established the family business 145 years ago in downtown St. Louis Mo.

Of the new eyeglass models, 7 feature an acetate design with a custom metal wire core throughout the temple, hand-polished for a silky-smooth feel. All acetate color blends were custom designed by the Erkers themselves, introducing 11 new blends within their Spring eyeglass release. Like all acetate frames from the heritage brand, a custom German hinge with authentic steel rivets joins the front and temple, featuring a beveled design and an etching of 1879. Introducing a wide range of eyeglass styles, these 7 models bring four women’s, one men’s, and two unisex frames to the collection.

The remaining five eyeglasses feature a metal frame, crafted with a titanium temple and a steel front for a lasting eyeglass with a featherlight feel. These slim metal eyeglasses account for four of the new colorways, characterized by a mix of natural metal tones paired with a range of more adventurous hues. Their distinctive subdued-modern palette is complemented by classic silhouettes, creating a style that is both modern and timeless. While the metal designs feature primarily feminine silhouettes, the release includes one unisex aviator and one round eyeglass in a mix of neutral colorways.

True to the heritage brand’s storytelling nature, each piece from the collection features A.P.’s initials on the temple tips, as well as their year of inception throughout the designs. For 145 years, the Erker family has dedicated itself to the craft of beautiful eyewear, telling the story of their family’s past with each frame. Honoring their history, each piece takes its name from an area around the city, where they still reside today. Believing that quality is always in style, the Erker family takes pride in their craft, using only the finest materials to create a long-lasting eyeglass.
