theo// A Bold Swing

theo Swings Bold

A girl is sitting on a swing on the playground next to the Golf course clubhouse terrace. She’s watching her father hit the golf ball far across the training ground.

“What a swing,” the girl cries, “but look what I can do, Daddy!” She is swinging ever harder and harder. At the highest point, she jumps off the swing and flies… straight into her mother’s arms. How bold!

The people on the terrace applaud in awe. A jazzy tune sounds from the speakers: Swingin’ Safari by good old Bert Kaempfert.

The swing. It is the swaying source of inspiration for four new daring theo designs called ‘swing’: Swaai stel (African), Ayunan (Indonesian), Hinta (Hungarian) and Huskesett (Norwegian). Transparent colours and a bold curve. Four frames with a twist and together they make up the Swings Bold Family.

About theo Eyewear

Theo is the Belgian eyewear brand known internationally for its distinctive and trendsetting designs. Theo eyewear, where willfulness and exclusiveness prevail, has taken glasses from an optical aid and turned them into a full-fledged accessory.

“Theo loves you” and is making frames with you in mind; your style and personality. The resulting frames are outrageous and edgy with bright colors that are playful, happy and quirky just like you.

Theo collections are inspired by the avant-garde, vintage and retro-looks and a lot of color and they cater to the every-day, special occasions or somewhere in between.

Since 1987 theo has been testifying to the power of colour with nonconformist designs in endless colour combinations. A theo on your nose bridge means balancing an expressive and dynamic object that goes beyond its functional purpose. Whether one opts for a more sober design or a more dramatic design: each model has a playful twist. A few years ago founder and father Wim Somers left the company to his three sons Mik, Jan and Toon. Meanwhile the Belgian brand has grown into a leading label in the world of optics.
