Covrt Project // Mission One

The feedback at SILMO was very exciting. Buyers recognized the attention to detail and thought processes we have applied in the design and production of our frames and their packaging. Our commitment in putting the customer and the customer experience first was received with great enthusiasm across the board.

Marcello Martino, Creative Director

Designed in London by Marcello Martino and made in Italy, the avant-garde, fashion-forward collection by Covrt Project offers an antidote to mainstream eyewear, fusing innovative, tech style with the high-spec production expertise of one of the most advanced eyewear factories in northern Italy.

Covrt Project has enjoyed an exceptional reception and global interest from fashion and optical buyers this autumn during its launch of the S/S20 Sunglasses Collection at Silmo Paris.

The first collection by London brand, Covrt Project is releasing four sunglass designs created in lightweight milled steel and three in premium Mazzucchelli acetate.

AS1 – This unisex model is a rectangular shaped sunglass frame constructed in five pieces from premium Mazzucchelli acetate. The sleek sculptural design of the temples has been achieved by playing with the thickness of the acetate – the metal temple core is just visible. The result is a versatile, timeless design and an exceptionally well-balanced sunglass style for any occasion.

AS2 – Daring and unmistakably unique, the square-shaped AS2 has a progressive technical precision: the Base 2 lenses are inclined inside the frame construction to create a bolder look with greater presence. Unique details include the milled bridge detail at the front and back, and the use of silicone nose pads mounted to extended pad arms for comfort and a refined technical aesthetic.

AS3 – A flat-top visor design, with two functional, exposed bolts on the front of the frame, this masculine futuristic sunglass design is inspired by the 80s/90s wave of statement single-lens visors with an angular shape and bold definition in the open bridge. An irresistible head-turning design. This model is fitted with discreet, clear acetate nose pads for added comfort and a secure fit.

MP1 – The statement round model in the _Mission One Collection, with the Base 2 visor lens incorporated as a standout element in the bridge and overall shape of the sunglasses, bolted with visible screws to the front. The lens is cut away at the top and bottom of the eye shape to lighten the structure and create a unique, defining look, thanks to the team’s long-term working relationships with the leaders in this field. This relationship requires experimentation and high levels of expertise in trialing new production techniques and the use of materials or components from other industries, never before used in eyewear.

MP2 – Unique yet wearable, the unisex D-shaped frame features the visor lens fitting snuggly onto the frame structure, bolted with six visible screws. The frame has a detailed bridge design that exposes the ‘curved’ finish of the milled steel. The result is an individualistic, confident design with a clear contemporary vision.

MP3 – These square-shaped mask sunglasses take a radical approach to the design of the laser-etched bridge with a thickly cut lens structure enhanced by a metal top bar. The lens is cutaway around the bridge to expose the frame structure. The thicker temples and barrel hinge deliver a strong, tech-focused aesthetic.

MP4 –This hexagonal-shaped sunglass design is more conventional in the appearance of the individual lenses, cut from one visor lens, but more daring in the structure of the high double bridge, topped with an acetate bar. The design has undergone fine machine work to create a precise nose bridge for high-level functionality and comfort.
